Pleasant weather in West Michigan these days

Our bed and breakfast guests that booked their reservations for this week have been very lucky as the weather has been absolutely outstanding.  Very mild not-too-warm temperatures, clear skies and cool nights have made for very pleasant days indeed.  One can only hope that this weather continues well into the upcoming late summer and early fall seasons.

Bed and Breakfast guests rush to savor summer

That last two days it has been very evident that callers to the bed and breakfast are realizing that they have little time left to savor the last few official weeks of summer.  As labor day weekend fast approaches and back to school sales are popping up everywhere, we all begin to realize that there is not all that much time left to this year’s summer.  But then, I don’t mind at all as fall has always been by favorite romantic time of the year.

South Haven Blueberry Fest

This weekend was South Haven Michigan’s annual blueberry festival but it was unfortunately rain delayed at times.  Many of the events were still held as was hoped, just not in the same time slots and same locations.  Still, it was a fun time to be had by all as the sun did eventually stay out for longer periods of time by the end of the day along the South Haven lakefront.

New Innkeepers and housekeeping

This week marks a new era for the Kingsley House bed and breakfast as we begin to train our new Innkeepers and housekeeping staff who will help us to continue the great tradition of serving our guests in such great fashion.  We are very excited for the new opporunities this affords everyone involved and we are sure all of our bed and breakfast guests will agree that this is all a very good fit.  You will be hearing more about these exciting changes in the near future, but in the meantime, we will continue to provide the excellent Inn service our guests have come to know us for.

Empire Elite Suite just added back to bed and breakfast website

For those of our followers who have returned to the Inn for a number of years, many of them probably remember the Empire suite at the Kingsley House bed and breakfast.  We re-configured rooms and suites to allow space for the Innkeeper’s quarters, which meant taking over the spacious Empire suite for a number of years.  We have since made the decision to re-open the Empire Elite suite for our valued guests.  It was always one of the most popular suites and we are sure it will be again in the near future as we have updated it and made it even more desireable by adding amenities to the suite.

Pleasant forecast ahead for Saugatuck Michigan

One would never have guessed that here in Saugatuck Michigan in the middle of summer we would be thinking of such a pleasantly cool and mild weather forecast as high 70s in the days ahead.  What has seemed like a virtual forecast rollercoaster this summer has always been quite surprising throughout.  HOT temps, rainy and stormy spells and now what seems like a springtime forecast are all part of what makes up our weather patterns this year.  We certainly can’t complain about not getting a little bit of whatever anyone likes in weather this year!

Flowers at the Bed and breakfast

Lately I have noticed that some of our flower pots around the bed and breakfast have really taken a beating this summer season with the extreme heat of July followed by the recent summer storms.  So I went in search yesterday for some “replacement” flowers and was quite surprised to find that one can find some really good deals on potted plants this time of year in West Michigan.  Granted, you do need to be patient in searching for flowers that don’t look too old or worn, but if you search you can find mature beautiful flowers yet at great discounted prices.

Bed and Breakfast hosts Farmers group

This week at the bed and breakfast we are fortunate to have a group bound together over the years by their connection as outstanding farmers association of the Midwest.  Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and North Dakota farmers are all a part of this group that come together in this group over the years.  What a great group it is as they are all very down to earth and all have an obvious common bond together.  It is always nice to host a group like this at the bed and breakfast but even nicer when it is the basis of what the Inn was about in 1886 when Harvey Kingsley farmed the land the Inn still sits on today.

Bed and breakfast guests enjoy a leisurely day at the Inn

With the weather being rather gloomy today, many of our bed and breakfast guests have chosen to stay at the Inn much of the day, enjoying the romantic getaway trips they have planned for some time.    The nice comfortable air inside our air conditioned bed and breakfast is a nice place to be on a muggy and sticky day like today, so I really can’t blame them for choosing to not be running around exploring the Saugatuck area for too much.    After all is said and done, experiencing comfort and luxury is what it is all about while on vacation, right?

Back to muggy weather in Saugatuck Michigan area

It seems as though this summer’s weather pattern always returns to muggy and high humidity conditions which isn’t entirely unusual for the Saugatuck area of west Michigan in the summer months.   But with the usual effects of Lake Michigan, we generally see more mild temperatures with low humidity in the summer months.  Could this unusually warm and muggy pattern mean a warmer and more mild winter for us as well?  Stay tuned, as anything is possible in this part of Michigan.
