Last night at the Inn we had a wonderful time doing a cooking class. We made appetizers, salads and some amazing desserts. Chef Scott showed and shared some great ways to make the most impressive desserts. The best part of all was for dinner we got to eat all the tasty food that we had made. What a fun and ROMANTIC way to spend a week end.

It’s so Deja vous around here

Not only is our kitty named Deja Vous but our guest lately have been ones that have stayed with us before. How wonderful to have guests come back! Some come back because they want to try each room. Some come back because of the relaxing atmophere. Some come back for the food and hospitality. Whatever the reason it’s nice to see some familar faces.

Butterflies are free, my love

Nothing says the hope of spring like butterflies! Fredrick Meijer Gardens (just 1 short hour north of the Inn) has an amazing inside garden where the butterflies fly all around you. Go with someone special and feel the springtime in the air!

mexican breakfast

One of the new favorites here at the Inn is chorizo and eggs. Some might thing that would be too spicy for them but not ours. The way we make this mexican sausage with eggs is not hot but tasty with just a bit of kick.

Waiting to see the Queen

Some of the quests have been asking to see the new queen of the Inn. Her name is Deja Vous. Her previous owner tried to run her over with his truck. He just got her tail. So after some TLC we are happy to say she is fine. She is a large cat now, not only in size but fur. This beautiful girl is now a purring machine as her life has been greatly improved. She is still skittish of most people and only stays back in our area. But she has graced her presence to some of the guest who have asked to see her.

It’s like music to my ears

Last Wednesday night Scott and I went to the Fennville Station. When we got there we found Gary Gramer and Bob Batastini in the louge performing from the great American Songbook. What a delight! Look for them every Wednesday night at the Fennville Station from 5pm – 8pm.

’tis a puzzlement

Not everyone wants to spend their time here at the Inn busily running to this place and that, doing all sort things. Some couples lately have been putting puzzles together that we have here in the Parlor. They spend their time drinking coffee and talking for hours while they find pieces to the puzzle and pieces about each other.

There’s a new Queen for the King

When Scott and I took over as Inn Keepers of the Kingsley House, we brought with us a very special cat. Her name is Deja Vous. (I will tell you about her name in another blog) Although Deja does not wander the Inn but stays back in our living quarters she has made this her domain and she has been purring non-stop since.

3 sheets to the wind

It is so warm and so windy today at the Inn I was wishing I could hang our freshly laundred sheet out in the spring type air to dry. We have sunny skies and the hint of that clean scent that reminds us that spring is not too far off….well we can only hope.

Don’t let the sun go down on romance

Nothing is more romantic then summers on the beach watching the sunset with the one you love. BUT here at the Inn we have had many couples brave the cold and watch some of the most wonderful sunsets in these last few sunny days. Cold waters, bright sun, hot romance!
