On Tuesday nights in downtown Fennville there will be FREE music concerts in the park.
One can stay at the Inn, walk to the concert and then enjoy dinner at Salt of the Earth or Fennville Station. This is all within walking distance. What a great way to spend a Tuesday night in the summer.
Scott and I went to downtown Saugatuck last night for dinner. The city was jumping! There were dogs playing in the park with their owners, people walking around everywhere, and best of all a spirit of happiness “SUMMER IS HERE!!”
Last night was a perfect Michigan evening here at the Inn. Everyone was out on the porch enjoying the warm temps. They were enjoying wine, snacks and conversation, some were talking in large groups, others were just between the two of them. What a relaxing way to end a hot day of shopping and going to the beach!
If you look at our website there is a saying “If the kitchen is the heart of the house then the porch is the soul.” Well, we have soul becuase our porch is open! The swing is out for lazy afternoons and the tables are out if you want breakfast outside. So the porch is open…..let the summer begin!
After the hiking, biking, shopping, etc. our guests love to come back to the Inn for a “rest” in our quiet rooms, lovely gardens and breezing porch….of course then it is on to dinner and sunsets!!!
Today is a great day to go for a little bike ride. Our guests are taking our bikes out and going for a ride to the beautiful lake that is just about 2 1/2 miles from the Inn.
A relaxing ride, a glorious day and the one you love. Can’t beat that!
So how does the song go again? Well in this case, we aren’t going to let it get us down! This is actually a perfect rainy Spingtime day with a slow soaking rain that will do wonders for our beautiful Michigan flowers.
There have been many years when mother nature just did not cooperate with the Holland Tulip Festival’s planning committee’s festivities. But this is not one of them. This weekend is turning out to be a grand Spring weekend with perfect temperatures and sunny skies. The earlier Spring thaw in March has meant that many of our area tulips have already past their peek, but that certainly isn’t damping the spirit of our bed and breakfast guests as many of them are making plans to attend the festival in Holland this weekend.
Today starts the begininng of our annual “flowering” of the Inn. We began today to bring in some of the many flowers, hanging baskets and annuals to freshen the bed and breakfast for the upcoming Summer and Fall season. And the weather sure does make it seem appropriate too with highs in the 80’s today!
