New Bed and Breakfast special packages just posted

Late Spring and early Summer is a great time to visit the Saugatuck Michigan area and our bed and breakfast.    Two reasons are the fantastic special discount packages we are offering from now until June 24th.  Free massages with a two-night stay and complimentary Salt of the Earth dining are two great reasons to consider booking a luxury suite or room today.  Very rare indeed is that we are allowing our guests to combine both specials so that the bed and breakfast guests can receive two one-hour in-house massages free-of-charge as well as a free dinner ($50 value) at nearby Salt of the Earth restaurant which is just three blocks from the Inn.  There’s never been a better reason to visit our Saugatuck area Inn in late Spring/Early Summer.

Saugatuck Dunes and Beach weather this ain’t!

We here in West Michigan are spoiled this spring.  Our bed and breakfast guests have been enjoying beautiful summer-like weather many days as they explored Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven.  But today was definitely a reminder that it is still mid-Spring.  The temperatures hovered in the 40’s today for the first time in a long time here.  But that has been just fine for many of our bed and breakfast guests as they have come back early from their daily exploring to relax with the Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk bars I just made this morning and a hot cup of coffee from our always complimentary Flavia hot beverage machine.

Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland visitor praises bed and breakfast in review

The following review was recently posted online by one of our more recent guests of the bed and breakfast:  [The bed and breakfast] is so close to Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland that there is plenty to do if you want to go out and about! The inn was amazing and we can’t wait to go back again!   We loved this place! From the endless cookie jar to the outstanding (and very unique!) breakfasts, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! They catered to our every need and were wonderful hosts! We enjoyed swinging on the front porch and reading inside the sitting room with quiet music in the background.

Close to Lake Michigan and B&B, What Not Inn a great find

From the outside, this Saugatuck and Fennville area restaurant isn’t much to look at, but once you experience it, you’ll soon know why it’s a popular place.  Many of our bed and breakfast guests have ventured to the What Not for casual dining, a nightcap, the live music or a post murder mystery dinner celebration that started a gongo line at 2:00 a.m.  If you are looking for a fancy country club atmosphere, this isn’t the place.  But if you’re looking for hometown cooking frequented by regulars who know a good value when they see it, then this is a great place for you.  The entertainment is just that, very entertaining.  From live music to jazz nights to karoke, this place is always hopping.  And the best part is that the entertainment is free and the food and drinks are all very inexpensive for the Saugatuck Michigan area.

Meijer Gardens Chichuly exhibit a must see while visiting West Michigan

One of the pointers we like to give our bed and breakfast guests is to make a visit to nearby Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Just a short drive northeast of the Saugatuck area, our bed and breakfast guests always come back raving about their visit to Meijer Gardens.  This year the gardens is celebrating the materwork of artist Dale Chihuly with a large outdoor sculpture exhibition that is not to be missed.  The sculpture gardens are incredible just by themselves, but with the addition of this exhibit that runs through September 30, it is a great time to visit.  Plan on spending at least half a day at the gardens (if not a full day) as it is a real treat for visitors to the West Michigan area.

Michigan hot air balloon ride package a romantic hit

Guests of our bed and breakfast really have taken to our romantic Michigan Hot Air Balloon Ride package.  It’s a fantastic experience not to be missed and includes a three hour hot air balloon ride adventure as well as a romantic picnic basket for two prepared by the Innkeepers just for our guests.   Proposals, anniversary, honeymoon or just a romantic getaway escape, this is the ultimate package and a spectacular view of West Michigan that is sure to rekindle (or start) a romantic mood.  Guests of the Inn can add the package to any stay of two nights or more at the bed and breakfast.

Bed and breakfast Specials and Getaway packages

Guests looking for special deals during their Saugatuck and West Michigan vacation are encouraged to visit the section of our website entitled Specials and Getaway Packages from the main page of our website or from any of the menu bars on our website.  We are constantly updating and changing our specials and packages and even frequent visitors to our site comment how they love to return to this page to see what current specials and and packages we are offering at out bed and breakfast Inn.  Bookmark the page and come back often to see what kind of deals you can find for your next visit to the Saugatuck and West Michigan area.

Kingsley bed and breakfast once a farm house

Quite often, guests of the Kingsley House bed and breakfast inquire about the history of the Inn’s unique structure and property.  Truly it is a one-of-a-kind Michigan landmark and on the Michigan state historical registry.  It was built in the true Queen Anne Victorian style when he moved to the Saugatuck/Fennville area of Michigan as a farm house for his small family as they raised apples and peaches, beginning much of the orchards in the surrounding area of West Michigan.  There was at one time barns, windmill, stone well and the orchards that surrounded the Inn were full of bountiful fruits.

Saugatuck dining hearty-style at Ida Red’s

One of our favorite Saugatuck restaurants for simple yet hearty good food is Ida Red’s which is located across the street from the waterfront in Saugatuck.  A Michigan tradition for many years, Ida’s is also becomes a favorite for our bed and breakfast guests once they have experienced their fine hearty dishes.  It is open for breakfast and lunch, but not dinner and has limited (weekend) hours in the winter time.  It can also be a bit of a wait to get a seat at this popular Saugatuck eatery, but is well worth the wait.

West Michigan Lakefront 80 degrees today!!

If this spring in West Michigan and the Saugatuck area is any sign of things to come, we are in for one incredible summer for our bed and breakfast guests.  This morning our Inn guests were threatening to sit outside on the wrap-around porch for breakfast.  I almost wish they went ahead and did as it’s nice to be able to say that some of our guests to our Southwest corner of Michigan were able to eat outside in APRIL!  Regardless, the temperatures of this spring and continuing into the upcoming forecast are a good sign that the getaway vacation season is already upon us.  Hurray!!
