Biking in West Michigan a real treat

As many of our bed and breakfast guests can tell you, biking around the Saugatuck, South Haven and Holland areas of West Michigan is plentiful.  Every weekend from spring to fall you will see lots of bike enthusiasts pedaling through the back roads and byways along Lake Michigan and throughout the surrounding farm communities.  The scenery is great and there are plenty of open roads as well as more casual bike trails that meander along the lake front beach towns.  While we do provide bikes for our guests to use, many of our bed and breakfast guests prefer to bring their own bikes with them for their Michigan getaway vacation.

Inn Landscaping water displays, fountains, pond…

There are many things about our bed and breakfast property that our guests enjoy as much as we do.  When you live in West Michigan, you take advantage of every bit of the spring to fall seasons and we are no exception to that rule here.  The use of water in our beautiful landscaping features bird baths, fountains, waterfalls and a coy fish pond.  Our bed and breakfast guests often comment about our beautiful use of water in the landscaping and gardens of the Inn.

Saugatuck area Bed and Breakfast featured in NY Times

In the past few years, the Kingsley House bed and breakfast Inn has been featured TWICE in the New York Times.  One of these was a package we were featuring in conjunction with a local Saugatuck business and another was when we offered a “apple cider for gas” special in which guests were given coupons for free apple cider at Crane’s apple orchards and pie pantry in exchange for how much gas they used to travel to the bed and breakfast and the Saugatuck area of West Michigan.

Privacy of luxury suites and rooms

One of the things I decided years ago when purchasing the bed and breakfast is that I definitely wanted an Inn where guest privacy is of the utmost importance.  Our luxurious suites and bedrooms are just one example of this as they all have their own private bath, all within the room itself.  It really is surprising just how few of the Saugatuck area bed and breakfasts can say this.  No “bathroom across the hall, “shared bath” or “attached bathroom” at the Kingsley House.  They all also have their own cable TV and DVD player for private viewing of TV and movies from our extensive DVD library.  They all also have very few common walls with other rooms and suites, providing the most private environment for our bed and breakfast guests while enjoying the luxury and privacy of their suite.

Summer getaway in Michigan includes heat, storms…

The Saugatuck Michigan summer getaway for our current bed and breakfast guests includes summer time heat, humidity and thunderstorms that rolled through with crashing booms at 5:00 a.m. this morning.  When we think of summertime in West Michigan and the surrounding Saugatuck area, we rarely think of the severe weather that can sometimes come with it.  Fortunately for our current Inn guests, the thunderstorms seem to be happening primarily overnight and later in the day or early in the morning.  The warm summer weather has also warmed Lake Michigan to 75 degrees this week, making it almost like bath water.  So we certainly can’t complain this summer season.

Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville dining voucher options

Many of our bed and breakfast romantic getaway packages and great special offers include gourmet dining at a local area West Michigan restaurant.  We have teamed with a select group of Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville area restaurants to provide our bed and breakfast guests who choose these packages and specials these fine dining options.  By providing a selection of gourmet restaurants to experience, we believe our Inn guests have more freedom to make their romantic package or special personal to them.

Bed and Breakfast .com review just posted

The following review was just posted today by recent guests of our Saugatuck Michigan area bed and breakfast:  Repeat Guests for a reason–outstanding B&B.  We have stayed at the Kingsley House in the fall and winter months for our anniversary and birthdays, so we decided it was time to see it in the summer months. What amazed us this time was the number of repeat guests they had at the Inn, but then that speaks for itself. We were one of six couples at the Inn on a couple of recent weekdays and five of the six were repeat guests (including ourselves). That says a lot for the way these guys run the B&B. A few more things we noticed this time around….the breakfasts are always amazing and always different, the landscaping and gardens are gorgeous, and we have now loved every one of the four rooms/suites we have tried. Can’t wait to go back again! We love it here!

Michigan weather and climate perfect for lilies right now

Our bed and breakfast guests often rave about our breathtaking landscaping and gardens, which feature a wide variety of perrenial flowers such as the many colors of lilies.  This year’s Michigan weather and climate has seemed to make all of the lilies around the Saugatuck area and here at the bed and breakfast all pop out at the same time.  Right now we have a virtual kalidescope of colors and varities of lilies throughout the gardens.  It truly is hard to imagine the snowy landscape of our West Michigan winters at times like these.

Romantic getaway dining even at breakfast

Romantic getaways really are a large part of our focus here at our Southwest Michigan bed and breakfast.  So much so, that we have always given our romantic couples on a getaway escape the option of dining at a table for two, ensuring the ultimate in privacy and relaxation.  We also offer breakfast in bed for our romantic couples as another option to enhance their time in West Michigan.  In the summertime, we have both tables of two and tables of four on our large wrap around porch.  In the colder months, we also have tables of two as an option for our romantic couples.

Review of our Saugatuck area bed and breakfast

A review by one of our recent guests at the bed and breakfast was just posted on Tripadvisor.  These guests enjoyed a picnic prepared by the Inn in the Saugatuck gazebo and the Tall Ships sailing adventure in South Haven.  Here’s their review:  “Heaven on Earth”  We cannot say enough about our experience at the Kingsley. My husband and I stayed for two nights to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We left our three kids at home to get some much needed rest and relaxation. The Kingsley provided just that.  The inn is immaculate and beautifully decorated. Dave, the innkeeper, has thought of everything. All ammenities are made available with a quiet yet thorough hospitality. The breakfast is amazing, and we love the afternoon treats left out in the afternoon. Our stay was quiet, restful and rejuvinating.   We also took advantage of an activity package which included dinner in town, a picnic lunch to take to the beach, and a sunset sail on a replica of an historic tall-ship. It was well worth the price.
We will return to the Kingsley in the future without question.
